Queer Jeopardy and Monster Ball!

Hello, Lambdalites!

We hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend and are getting back into the swing of things! We have a lot of events coming up so keep your eyes peeled!

Our next Monday Meeting is . . .QUEER JEOPARDY! Come show of your knowledge on Queer Media and Icons, Politics, Health, and History! Naturally, there will be prize packages! Be sure to come with your Queer Caps on…this competition will be fierce and fabulous! This time we are meeting in Tate room 141. Click here for the Facebook Event. If you are interested in the Speaker’s Bureau and missed our last training session, we will be discussing future sessions during this meeting.

Also coming up next week: “Haters, Sinners, and the Rest of Us – The Gay Debate Today,” given by John Corvino on Wednesday, September 12th @ 7:30 PM in Tate Theater! FREE for students, $5 for general admission.

Program description:  “Is it possible to have a productive conversation about LGBT issues? One side labels the other sinners, perverts, or deviants and dismisses them as beyond redemption. The other side labels the first as haters or bigots and—in much the same way—treats them as lost causes. There’s a lot of name-calling, but very little effort at understanding. That’s where John Corvino comes in. In this keynote program, he draws on two decades of speaking experience as The Gay Moralist to promote a better conversation on these issues. Using his trademark combination of logical rigor, sensitivity, and humor, he challenges people from all sides to rethink easy assumptions in the increasingly divisive culture wars.”

Coming this October….Lambda Alliance’s Monster Ball!

There will be refreshments, music, and a spacious venue to just dance! Da doo doo~ Be sure to come dressed to impress or IN COSTUME, as there will be a Best Costume Contest! Click here for the Facebook Event.

See all you wonderful people next week!
