Is This Legal?: The Law and You

This coming Monday, September 30th, Lambda will have a special speaker from TransGeorgia come in to speak about queer legalities such as what rights you have if you face workplace/medical discrimination, what constitutes as a hate crime, how to deal with encounters with the police, and much more! Come to Tate 137, 5:30, to check it out!

Drag Race this coming Monday!

In preparation for our upcoming God Save the Kings and Queens Drag SHOW (November 14th!), Lambda’s next meeting will be a drag race! Come to Tate 137 this Monday, Sep. 23, to play with make up, clothes, and to strut your stuff in a fun, little mini-competition (or to see board members do it. We all remember Jonana…and Sexy Chad). Starts at 5:30- see you there!

Don’t Forget- Asexuality Panel Tonight!

Lambda Alliance’s Hidden Voices: Asexuality Panel will be from 6:30-8:00 in Adinkra Hall (room 407 in Memorial Hall)! Come with questions and open ears to enjoy both good discussion and free food! Also, this is an official blue card event, so spread the word!

It’s back! The amazing, award-winning Lambda Queer Poetry Slam will be September 16th (THIS MONDAY) so all you poets, spoken word artists, and musicians find your muses and get the creative juices flowing!

We will have an open mic and a special performance by Atlanta’s own slam group Art Amok.  There will also be coffee and free food, so please come out!

Mental and Emotional Health!

This coming Monday, September 9th, will be Lambda Alliance’s meeting on mental and emotional health! We’ll be bringing in Dr. Shannon Bowles from the UGA Health center to explore personal and relationship-oriented well-being and to talk about resources on campus for a variety of needs. A Q&A will follow her presentation, so make sure you’re there! 5:30, Tate 137!
